I'm looking at about 55K in storage after the event and deciding to dump some into 30 lockpicks, so I can't complain. I have the armor I want, my heros look good enough and do their jobs, so life is good.

i guess i can be considered as average
i have about at least million and a half in armors + weapons + mini pets all together, but i don't have 1 FOW set (only 1 chest piece for my monk, ill complete the set when i feel like farming again :P)
i have about 60ish k in storage at the moment, even tough i try to keep it at 100k at all times.
i don't have any stacks of ectos, but i have pretty much anything that i need, or the ability to farm for something i need thats out of my reach in a relatively short time.
so ya, i guess im average

I dont know how to answer this poll. In general, most players dont seem to me to have enough gold. Ways to find more is the activity of the vast majority of players. I, on the other hand, always felt reasonably comfortable with the amount I've always had, though better back in the "old" days. By no means rich though.
All I seek these days is pudding anyway.

I never have enough gold. I want to upgrade the equipment of all the heroes of all my chr's to the best and that takes tons of gold; Sup Vigor, Apptitude not appitude, and so on. Also I would like to get to max my lucky stats and the only way to do this is to get lots of lockpicks and have luck in onlocking chests... But it really takes tons of lockpicks so... Never enough gold!

I got 100k in storage with 2 set of elite EoTn armor, all my heroes are runed up and well equiped (green and gold max weapons), and i got about 60 green and/or rare gold weapons spread out on mules after 5 months of play.
I never buy anything from other players and rarely sale anything, i never buy lockpick and most of my drops goes to the merch except for rare nice stuff.
I use a lot of collectors weapons and armor in the beginning until i got better looking stuff from drops.
I guess you gotta be carefull on what you waste your gold on.

I have around a million gold banked on my and my husband's accounts, down from about 1.2mil a week or two ago (bought some GWEN armor). I'd guess 50% is from getting lucky with and selling our first and second year minipets (5 characters old enough to get them the first week they're out, helps a lot.) Probably 30% from farming, most before the drop nerf, a little after. The last 20% from normal play and selling lucky drops and upgrades on the auction boards.
I'm not in a big guild, so I have no access to elite content really. Unlike a lot of people, I don't spend the bulk of my time on one pet character; I like to keep all 18 of our characters in my favorite armor sets, with my favorite weapon skins, and decked out in skills and elites. Most FOW armors are so ugly I wouldn't buy it even if it were 1k armor, so I save there too; likewise, I hate titles, and won't spend money on them. I don't buy things for prestige but rather for my own eyecandy. Basically, money I have banked will eventually be spent on something, but not till that character 'earns' it by finishing content.
I know I'm not even remotely an average player. The average casual player squeaks by on the pennies he got from that last quest. The average hardcore player drops a million gold like it was nothing and just figures he'll build it back later (and probably will). I try to balance 'frugal' with 'vanity' but I understand both extremes. You can't take it with you.

I voted pudding.
500K is the most my storage has ever seen. Not rich by any means but way more than necessary for all my character's needs. Have ~350K, now.

The most gold I ever had at once was just over 200k. I have a problem with impulse spending, and I absolutely love kitting out brand new characters.
I farmed a few things for my monk: Vabbian armor, Razah the hard way, and Legendary Skill Hunter. That was early last year. I haven't really farmed since; I've toyed with builds, but my heart's not in it. I'm trying to develop a gameplay cashflow - playing new characters through the campaigns, opening treasures every month, etc.
Just for the hell of it, I have a vague plan to fill up my monk's HoM. Titles and heroes are done (and then some). I still need 3 armors, 12 minipets, and 9 destroyer weapons. It's a long-term goal.
Basically, I have a certain amount of unnecessary bling, and am aiming to have more. However, I wouldn't even be playing the game if any of the bling was necessary. It's been a while since I posted this diagram, but it's still true:

I consider myself an avarage player. I don't have much money (around 20k in storage now), but i have a perfectly good reason for why i have that much. I am not good with money. I usually make like 70k all of sudden through drops or power trading at random points, but as soon as i earn that i would spend it only a useless set of 15k armor or other crap. My ranger has probably been through like 15 sets of 15k druid over the time i have had him. If i wasn't so careless, i would'vevoted i have enough money, but right now... i just want pudding.

The amount of gold in storage is irrelevant. A better question, that is more difficult to answer though, is how much a person has in "assets".
Since the weapons and armor with max stats are very easy to acquire, people who don't have enough money are those who want too many shiny things :P

So our choices are: Rolling in cash or Stone Cold Broke. Where's the medium? The "I have enough to get me by"?

I'm by no means filthy rich, I tend to float around 100k or so. However, I haven't had to care about money for a long time now. I don't buy vanity items, although I do have a few sets of 15k I bought just because I could.
I don't farm, I don't buy anything, I give away all my rare items. I'm exempt from the economy.
